About Nicholas Agro
Mr. Agro is an adjunct Law Professor at St. Joseph's College in Patchogue, NY, teaching a graduate level course in Special Education Law; a member of the Editorial Board of Reviewers of the Journal of the American Academy of Special Education Professionals; a member of the Suffolk County Bar Association Education Law Committee; a member of the International Dyslexic Association. Mr. Agro has contributed to several articles by Evelyn Ain in her column in the Long Island Press newspaper concerning legal issues encountered by parents of Autistic children. Mr. Agro has been involved in numerous Special Education events including the Long Island Autism Fair, The Rocky Point Autism Fair, Common Connections at West Hills, the David Center Fall Festival and has lectured on Special Education, School Disciplinary and Vaccination issues to SEPTA and parent groups.
Mr. Agro earned his undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from Polytechnic Institute of New York and began his career as an Electrical Engineer at Grumman Aircraft Systems in Bethpage, N.Y. While an engineer, Mr. Agro earned a Graduate Degree in Management from Adelphi University. Mr. Agro has worked as a Computer Systems Information Technology Manager, a Computer and Telecomunications Engineer; headed a group in charge of Computer Network Configuration; and was a Regional Telecommunications Systems Engineering Manager. Mr. Agro decided to pursue his passion for the law and earned his degree at Touro Law School in Huntington, N.Y. While at Touro, Mr. Agro earned awards in areas including oral advocacy and legal writing. After working at two Long Island law firms, Mr. Agro opened his own firm, The Law Office of Nicholas J. Agro, P.C., which specializes in representing Students and their Families in Education Law matters.
