About the Author.

Nicholas J. Agro is is an avid boater who has been boating for 17 years. He owns a powerboat but also enjoys sailing, having participated in Wednesday night sail races in Port Washington harbor for many years.

When he is not boating or publishing books, Mr. Agro works an attorney in private practice representing students in special education law matters against school districts. He is also an adjunct Professor of Law at St Joseph's College in Patchogue, NY. Mr. Agro is a member of the Suffolk County Bar Association Education Law Committee and a member of the Editorial Board of Reviewers of the Journal of the American Academy of Special Education Professionals. Mr. Agro has contributed to several articles in the Long Island Press newspaper concerning legal issues encountered by parents of Autistic children. Mr. Agro has been involved in numerous Special Education events and has lectured on Special Education issues to SEPTA and parent groups.

Mr. Agro earned his undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from Polytechnic Institute of New York and began his career as an Electrical Engineer at Grumman Aircraft Systems in Bethpage, NY. While an engineer, Mr. Agro earned a Graduate Certificate in Management from Adelphi University. Mr. Agro has worked as a Computer Systems Information Technology Manager; a Computer and Telecomunications Engineer; headed a group in charge of Computer Network Configuration; and was a Regional Telecommunications Systems Engineering Manager. Mr. Agro earned his law degree at Touro Law School in Huntington, NY. After working at two Long Island law firms Mr. Agro opened his own firm, The Law Office of Nicholas J. Agro, P.C.

In addition he is a photography enthusiast, a singer and guitar player and has a strong interest in astronomy. He lives on Long Island, NY with his wife and their son, Ethan, who was the inspiration for the book My First Picture Book of Boating Words
